Today is the official release of BuriedIce.com - an interactive tour of the McMurdo Dry Valleys of Antarctica. I am still frantically trying to get a few more panoramas and videos onto the site before it goes live. At this point, I have been up for about 40 hours straight, but it is almost ready. I designed and programmed all parts of this website, which was a wonderful learning experience, but I am sure there will be many glitches and improvements needed in the first few weeks. Please explore BuriedIce.com and send me your feedback to buriedice@gmail.com.
In the near future, there will be a tutorial video added to showcase all the features of the website. As I go through the 8 Terabytes of photos and videos, and produce more panoramas, Gigapans, timelapses, and videos, I will add them to the site. In this blog I will be highlighting a lot of the media to explain how these images were captured and what it is like working in Antarctica in general. So stay tuned!
